Scrapbook Heaven Blog

Happy Holiday season to everyone out there in blog land! Hope the hustle and bustle is treating you all well! And in the spirit of hustle and bustle of the season it feels like we end up doing more for other than we do for ourselves, cooking, shopping, wrapping, decoration, hosting, etc......... So I want to challenge you this month to take some time for yourself and not just take some time Im challenging you to SCRAP about yourself! Im guessing that your least favorite subject when scrapping is yourself! Thats why we are scrapbookers so we can behind the camera! But an addition of yourself to your scrapbook is a great thing!

Here are some tips to get you started on documenting YOURSELF!

1.  Love YOUR Journey! Oprah said once that everyone has a story and I think that is so true! Everyone has things happen to them that is unique to their life! Journal your experiences in your own words to look back and remember the good, the bad, and the ugly! Take something that is difficult in your life and scrapbook about it. Trust me, its a great way to let it go!

2.  Make some lists!    I don't know about you all but I have lists EVERYWHERE! Things I need to do, things I need to buy all in hope of not forgetting! I have memo pads in my pocketbook to keep ideas jotted down. Make a page with your lists on it. What matters to you RIGHT NOW! How great to look back on it and see if you got it finished or how much easier it is now that the task is complete!

3. Who am I anyway? Sure we all have labels: Mom, daughter, friend, maid, etc..... We all have values that make us, well, US! Make a layout with one of your values and how it impacts you on a daily basis.

4. Looking Back is Priceless! If I could put time in a bottle........sorry I digress. But if you could talk to your younger self what would you say? Write yourself a letter about the lessons of life you have learned along the way! Find a childhood photo of yourself and write a note to your younger self!

5. Time Flies. Don't you wish sometimes you could look into the future and see what it holds for you? Take some time and make a layout of where you see yourself in 3 years, 5 years, 10 years. Or journal about your vision for your life and what you think the future holds for you.

I hope this has inspired you to take some time while doing things for other this season and create something for yourself! Bring in your creations and share them with us. I would LOVE to see what everyone comes up with!
